Health & medical coverage
Coverage before Medicare age, without the guesswork.
Self-employed, between jobs, aging off a parent’s plan, or paying more for employer coverage than it seems worth? There are usually more options than people realise — and many households on O‘ahu qualify for subsidies that bring the premium down a long way.

What we look at
- What you’re paying now, and for what
- Premium is only part of it. Deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and network breadth usually matter more to what you actually spend in a year.
- Whether your doctors and prescriptions are covered
- We check before recommending anything, so you can keep the care you trust wherever possible.
- What subsidy you qualify for
- Household size and income decide this. Cost-sharing reductions attach only to Silver plans, which is why the “cheapest” plan on paper is often not the cheapest plan for you.
- Coverage around the medical plan
- Dental, vision, short-term medical and hospital indemnity, where they close a gap rather than duplicate one.
Enrollment timing
Open Enrollment for individual plans starts November 1 each year. Outside that window you may still qualify through a Special Enrollment Period after a move, a marriage, a birth, or a change in your job or coverage — so it’s always worth asking.

Two details speed this up: how many people are in your household, and a rough sense of your household income for the year. Estimates are fine — we only need to work out which subsidy tier you land in.
Your information is used to prepare your comparison and to follow up with you. We never sell or share it.
