Plan Benefits Hawai‘i is a team of local, independent advisors helping Island families compare plans, avoid costly penalties, and enroll with confidence. No pressure, no jargon — and no cost to you.
Choosing Medicare shouldn't feel like a maze. Our advisors give you clear answers, honest advice, and real people you can reach — for years, not just at enrollment.
We're O‘ahu-based and work for you, not the carriers — with deep knowledge of Hawai‘i's plans and community.
Our advisors are paid by the insurance carriers, so our time, comparisons, and ongoing help are always free.
From Medicare to retirement income, our advisors bring different specialties and languages, so you get the right fit.
Questions after you enroll? Your advisor is your point of contact all year, and reviews your plan every fall.
From your first Medicare decision to protecting your family and income, our advisors offer a full suite of coverage under one trusted roof.

Plan Benefits Hawai‘i started with founder Kalei Kaanoi in 2005 and has grown into a team of local, independent advisors. We’re licensed right here in the Islands and work for you — not the carriers.
Every advisor brings their own specialties and languages, so whether you need Medicare, life insurance, or a retirement income plan, you’ll find someone who understands your situation and speaks your language.
No. There's never a fee for our help. Licensed agents are paid by the insurance carriers, so our time, plan comparisons, enrollment help, and year-round support are always free to you.
Your Initial Enrollment Period runs for seven months: the three months before your 65th birthday month, your birthday month, and the three months after. Enrolling on time helps you avoid late penalties that can last a lifetime. Kalei will walk you through the timing for your exact situation.
A Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan bundles your coverage into one plan — usually with a low or $0 premium and extras like dental, vision, and drug coverage, in exchange for using a network. A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan pairs with Original Medicare to cover out-of-pocket costs and lets you see any doctor who accepts Medicare. Kalei helps you weigh which fits your health, doctors, and budget.
Yes. Plans and your health needs change every year. We offer a free annual review each fall during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7) to make sure your plan still covers your doctors and medications at the best price.
Not necessarily. Before recommending anything, your advisor checks whether your current doctors and prescriptions are covered, so you can keep the care you trust wherever possible.
You may qualify for help. Programs like Hawai‘i's Med-QUEST (Medicaid) and the federal Medicare Savings Program can help pay your premiums and out-of-pocket costs, and you may be eligible for a $0-premium plan with extra benefits. Kalei can help you check your eligibility and apply.
